Vision

Government of Tamil Nadu Vision 2023, released by Honorable Chief Minister in 2013, Identifies ten thrust areas which form the basis of acceleration in the economy and achievement of the long term goals. Three among them are relevant to Innovation & Entrepreneurship. They are described below:

1. Increasing the share of Manufacturing in TN-Economy
2. Making SMEs Vibrant
3. Making Tamil Nadu Knowledge Capital and Innovation hub of India.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (IEDP) is the flagship programme of EDII to create entrepreneurship orientation among college students. EDII-TN has taken many initiatives under IEDP in a hub and spoke model, to promote entrepreneurial culture in Higher Educational Institutions in the State.

Mission

1. Create a positive and dynamic Entrepreneurship & Innovation ecosystem within and around higher educational institutions.

2. Build entrepreneurial & innovation competencies of Faculty, students and alumni.

3. Support growth and graduation of new high impact enterprises of students, alumni and people.

4. Incentivise and support creation and commercialization of Intellectual property.
