Innovation and Entrepreneurship culture of a country is often regarded as a greatest national advantage in an increasingly competitive world. Innovation infrastructure includes Universities & Colleges, Research Institutions, Laboratories and Startup companies. Taking note of the Vision 2023 statements of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, has launched a comprehensive program i.e. Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Program (IEDP or AIEDP) for entrepreneurship and innovation development for all Colleges, Polytechnics, ITIs, etc. through Hub and Spoke Model.

Through Hub and Spoke model, EDII-TN under the Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Program has connected with over 600 Spoke colleges through shortlisted resourceful universities or colleges as over a dozen hub institutions for the spoke colleges across the state in facilitating innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculties.
